It’s a little known fact among my friends that I’m an organizer. I love to plan nights out, birthday’s, pretty much anything! Some may even say I’m a bit of a control freak! I just like to sort things out as i know then, that they have been done properly! However, there are times when i don’t like organizing. It puts a lot of pressure on you for what ever you are planning to be good. And there is nothing worse than having organised something and people then complaining about it! So every now and again, there is nothing i love more than just being told exactly what the plans are. Meet here, at this time, and be dressed for this. So i was just a little bit exciting when Ed sent me a message saying we were going for dinner, be at Vauxhall at 6:30. That was all i knew.
We woke up after far too little sleep, 3 hours to be precise, all still a little drunk and hazy from the night before.
Why were we up so early i hear you ask, we thought we had to check out of our little apartment at 10am. But there was some confusion over where we should leave our bags. After uming and arring for a while we decided to go grab some breakfast first to sober up and hope by the time we were done we had heard back from our apartment owner.
We hadn’t. So we waited around for another 20mins, trying desperately to ring, text and email the owner before giving up and heading out into the sun. Our first stop was East Side Gallery. East Side Gallery is probably what most people picture when you say Berlin. Its the famous part of the Berlin Wall that has been covered in amazing illustrations.
After our first crazy night out, not getting home ’till gone 5am, we woke up mid afternoon, well Sim and i did, poor Chloe was rudely awoken by the glorious sunshine pouring in through her un-curtained room at 8am. Not want you want when we only crawled into bed at 5! Determined to make the most of what was left of the day we headed straight out in search of the Jewish War Memorial.
A couple of weeks ago my lovely friend Chloe sent me an email at work letting me know she had a week off and we were going to go away! Obviously i said YES! Simona managed to get the time off from her fancy new job too, and before we knew it, our last min girls trip to Berlin had finally come round and boy were we excited! We arrived at the airport bright and early and grabbed three full english breakfasts before smashing duty free and running to the plane!
Last night i indulged oh so much! I met my lovely friend Shay, who i haven’t seen for faaaaar too long as she was swanning off around the world, for cocktails, food and a good old natter. My dream night really! We went to a place called Sticks n Sushi in Covent Garden. I’ve walked past it before and always wanted to try it, so this seemed like the perfect time.
This week my best work friend Natasha is leaving me…..forever 😦 I’m well and truly heart broken, but what can you do, people sadly move on and i know deep down its the best for her. But that doesn’t make me any less sad. So as part of her many send off activities we decided to all go for a lovely thai lunch at the Lemon Tree.
Last week i was invited to a great event held by Joy and the Stylist. They had teamed up to put on a load of exclusive shopper events up and down the country. So after work i trotted up to Wardour Street to get stuck in.
Mother’s Day is fast approaching and if your mum’s are anything like mine then you are probably racking your brains trying to think of ideas of what to get your lovely mum to say thanks for being so great!
My mum is impossible to buy for, sorry mumma but you are! So i always find planning an activity is always a better option than buying her an actual gift, plus it gives you both some quality time together rather than just a bunch of flowers. Not that there’s anything wrong with flowers, we all love flowers! But rather than doing a gift guide for Mother’s Day i decided to give you some activity ideas for both Surrey and London that you could book instead.
On Sunday evening i was whisked off for a very romantic evening at the Sky Garden in the Walkie Talkie tower in the city. This place hasn’t been open long, but as soon as i heard about it i was desperate to go, it combines my main loves in life, skyline views of London and cocktails! What more could a girl want!
