At the top of the escalators in busy Canary Wharf, Volvo have created a little slice of heaven.
Giving a nod to the brands Swedish roots, the pop up encompasses everything hyggle (“The art of building sanctuary and community, of inviting closeness. Creating well-being, connection and warmth”) from the fur blankets, exposes wood, pretend wood burning fire and cable knit pillows, it oozed cosiness.
The pop up offered a ton of relaxing and invigorating experiences including mini yoga classes, art classes, Swedish massage sessions, a running club that led participants around a 5k lap of the city and even cycle hire, all completely free of charge.
We were invited along to try one of their meditation sessions. Having done yoga for years I was very open to the idea of meditation, however I was a little sceptical. Shutting off my brain on a Friday evening, in the middle of the city, after a busy week in only half an hour seemed almost impossible to me. How wrong I was!
The session was incredible. Starting with a quick mental body scan, we were then given a group mantra to be repeated in our heads, finished by concentrating our energy on the entire universe. It’s safe to say I was a meditation convert by the end. I left feeling completely relaxed having had my weeks’ worth of stress melted away.
And of course before we left we got to have a quick nosy round the amazing new XC60. It embodies style, class and comfort with its luxurious leather interior and impressive tecky extras. If you’re looking for a new family car it would be perfect, with ample space to fit the whole family, and luggage, so you really can escape the city!
