I appreciate I’ve been a terrible blogger. It’s been a good 6 months since I last posted. I’ve come to realise that I go through phases when it comes to blogging or writing and generally speaking, when the weather is lovely and I’ve got a ton going on, sadly blogging tends to fall at the waistline.
For any of you lovely lot that have been following me for a while now, you might remember me writing about Thames Court before, where we sat by the river and had lunch for my best friends birthday. Well, it’s been given a lovely make over, so they invited the girls and I down to check it out.
One of the biggest complaints from people that live in Surrey is the lack of independently owned and run restaurants serving amazing food. Granted me have a handful and the ones we do have are amazing, but it wouldn’t take you long to work your way through them all and then be left with the chains. Well WeFiFo is changing that, and the way we go out to eat all together.
Growing up I think it’s safe to say I spent pretty much all of my teenage years in Kingston, be it shopping trips in my early teens, to very messy nights out at all the clubs while at uni and working all of my retail career there. I know it well and am very fond of it as an area. So when i was contacted about coming to an event down by the river, I simply couldn’t say no, even if i had landed from Amsterdam that very morning!
Anyone that remembers Kingston a couple of years back will know Riverside area, just over Kingston bridge, as being a bit of a no man’s land. A handful of nice restaurants towards the top and a couple of old man’s pubs near TKMaxx end. A complete waste of a beautiful spot if you ask me. However, it has now been given the most beautiful face lift!
Thai food is probably my fave food, if not fave then 100% top 3, so you can image my excitement when I was invited to the launch of a new Thai restaurant last week out in Guildford.
Thaikhun, which is part of the Thai Leisure Group, currently has 6 different restaurants all over the country and have finally opened a 7th down south in Guildford! Based in the middle of Friary Street it couldn’t be in a better location if it tried, sandwiched between the high street and the Friary Centre it’s the perfect spot pre, post or mid shopping trip!
In my very fragile state i clambered out of bed and packed my overnight bag, making sure i remembered my swim stuff, gym stuff and a fancy outfit for dinner! We jumped in the car and after making a quick pitstop for recovery snacks made the quick 15min drive over to the AMAZING Foxhills!
This place is just STUNNING!!!!! As you pull in through the huge gates you quickly get your first glimpse of the manor house between the tree lined drive way.
I have this best friend Kevin. She’s small and very funny! Last week it was her birthday. (Her name’s not really Kevin by the way! That’s just what i call her! Her “real” name is Olivia)
As i mentioned before, last week was my lovely friend Chloe’s birthday. So on Saturday we headed to Richmond for afternoon tea, or at least that was the plan. The birthday girl, my self, Simona, Sarah and baby Ivy all trotted up to the Tea Box, only to very quickly be turned away as they had no space. We were all a little disappointed but didn’t let it dampen our spirits, we were celebrating after all, one crumby little tea room wouldn’t ruin our day! So we headed to the river in search of somewhere warm and cosy for a late lunch instead. Sarah spotted Jackson and Rye which set just a little bit back from the river and we all decided this was a great choice.
